Open Audition Call – Biggar Theatre Workshop – Panto 2026:  Cinderella

AUDITION DATES:  Monday 10 & Thursday 13 August 2026, 7.30pm

LOCATION: British Legion Hall, South Back Road, Biggar, ML12 6EW

Oh yes they are!  Auditions for Biggar Theatre Workshop’s panto 2026, Cinderella, are just around the corner. 

If you’re aged 16 or over we’d love you to come along.  Our annual panto is a much-loved community tradition that sells out every year – so why not be part of the magic?  Whether you’re a seasoned performer or taking the stage for the first time everyone is welcome. We’d love to see new faces alongside familiar ones. 

Come along on either date – 10 or 13 August. We may do call backs on 13 August to help pair up voices.  If you can keep both dates free that would be useful. If that’s not possible, come along on whichever date is most convenient. 

Crew: If you are interested in a back stage role please join us at auditions.

AUDITION FORMAT

This will consist of scenes for acting. If you wish to audition for a singing role please prepare a song of your own choice.

Acting will use selected scenes to try out the main and some supporting roles. Singing may be tried out in small groups, but please be prepared to sing solo.  The show will be high energy and full of great songs to sing and dance to.

• Mozzarella (Duet/ensemble singing)
• Gorgonzola (Duet/ensemble singing)
• Lady Esmerelda Cheddar of Gorge (solo singing)
• Lord George Cheddar of Gorge (ensemble singing)
• Fairy Godmother (chorus member plus solo singing)
• King Carl (ensemble)
• Queen Priscilla (ensemble)
• Miss Mattel (Also chorus member) (ensemble singing)
• Villagers Ensemble singing/dancing
• Mice (chorus members)
• Town Crier (chorus member)
• Servant, Maria (chorus member)
• Teddy (chorus member – duet)

There will also be lots of ensemble dance numbers for all cast and chorus.

KEY DATES

Rehearsal dates: Twice weekly rehearsals start on Monday 17 August and take place on Monday & Thursday evenings, 7.30 – 9.30pm

Dress Rehearsal: Sunday 29 November – all cast and crew must be available.

Performance dates: Tuesday 1 December to Saturday 5 December,  7.30pm  at Biggar Corn Exchange.

All cast and crew must be available on all of these dates.

  At 17, Charlie Murphy thought community service at a Glasgow homeless drop-in centre would be easy. Just kill time and get out.
