About Biggar

Biggar is a small rural town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

It is situated in the Southern Uplands, near the River Clyde and on the A702, 30 miles from Edinburgh and 40 miles from Glasgow. With a population of around 2,500, it is a thriving, active, diverse community.

Biggar has a variety of event venues and a host of clubs and organisations that run classes and activities. We are also fortunate to have a number of established festivals and celebrations including Biggar Little Festival, Biggar Science Festival, Gala Day, Biggar Agricultural Show and Craft Fayres.
