Sharryn McKelvie says:
As part of my role with The Compassionate Friends as a bereaved parent and indeed as a resident of Biggar, I would like to invite anyone in the community of Biggar, who has been bereaved in any way, to come together on Wednesday 3rd November 2021 from 7pm at the Memorial Garden, Park Place, Biggar.
Biggar Remembers our Absent Friends an event as part of Scotland’s festival of remembrance 1st – 7th November 2021 “because dead ordinary people live on in the memories we share”.
During this pandemic many people have died, and families have not had the chance to have everyone pay their respects in our traditional way. Our losses may be recent, or they might be from a long time ago, but dying matters to those left behind.
Thanks to a grant from “To Absent Friends” we can turn the memorial garden into a beautiful, bright, area of reflection for us to remember our Absent Friends. You do not need to bring along anything as these will be supplied for you. They will be left up for 48 hours before being taken down on Bonfire Night (the LED tealights will remain lit for up to 48 hours).
A short time bringing the community together, for “Biggar Remembers our Absent Friends”.
